Life-threatening Injuries From Midtown Reno Fire Overnight
Oct 29, 2018

RENO, Nev. (KOLO)-- A man has life-threatening injuries after an overnight apartment fire in midtown Reno, the Reno Fire Department reported Sunday.

Three police officers who pulled the unconscious man out of the smoke-filled Joseph’s Inn at 101 State St. were also treated, Battalion Chief John McNamara reported. Two were treated on scene and a third was taken to the hospital for further evaluation.

The fire department arrived on scene after the 12:21 a.m. call and police had already pulled the man out of the third story apartment and were giving him medical treatment, McNamara said.

Firefighters quickly put out the fire and it was contained to one apartment, McNamara said. No one else was displaced by the fire.

Firefighters also got a dog out of the apartment and it was taken to Washoe County Animal Control which sent to a visionary hospital. The dog’s condition was not available.

The fire’s cause is under investigation.
