Strength And Durability Of Fireproof Hardware

Hardware is a movable part, and needs to bear the weight of the door leaf and the impact of opening and closing. When configuring the plan, the performance of the hardware must match the door leaf and the use environment. Take the hinge as an example. As the driving part of the door system, it is the basis for the stable operation of the door leaf. The hinge on the fire door has not only fire protection requirements, but also life and load-bearing requirements. There are many types of hinges on the market, and some of them are no different from the appearance, but their performance is far different. So how to judge the quality of the hinge? From the three dimensions of material, life, and corrosion resistance.

First of all, it is recommended to use 304 stainless steel oil-free hinges for fire door hinges. Compared with zinc alloy and 201 stainless steel, 304 stainless steel has better strength and corrosion resistance. The reason why it is emphasized as an oil-free hinge is because some hinges are also 304 stainless steel, but because the machining accuracy cannot meet the requirements, hinge bearings need Adding damping oil for lubrication, this kind of hinge is prone to oil leakage after a period of use, which not only affects the appearance and is difficult to clean, but also affects the service life of the hinge.

Secondly, in terms of performance, it is recommended to use European standard 13/14 level hinges for fire doors. As mentioned before, fire doors are relatively heavy. A qualified single-open fire door weighs about 90KG, and ordinary hinges can easily lead to insufficient load-bearing Hanging under the door leaf affects daily use. The European standard 13/14 grade hinges have a bearing capacity of 120/160KG respectively, and have passed 200,000 life test and 96-hour salt spray test, which can ensure the long-term stable operation of the door leaf.

In addition to hinges, other hardware on fire doors, such as door closers, door locks, sequencers, bolts, etc., also need to make relevant requirements for their materials and lifespan to ensure their durability.
